How to Run Social Media for your business in under 5 hours per week

Clients often come to me enamored with the idea of what marketing online can do for them - from increasing their reach and getting more eyes on their work, to increasing their revenue and being able to release some of the worry of where their next paid client is going to come from…

But the truth is, it can be a full time job to market your business. And if you’re not a social media expert, it can take you twice as long to create and execute great content as it would a professional. So I’m going to give you a few strategies to help you maximize your marketing work so that you can focus your energy on what you do best, which is providing that killer service you provide.

Here are the 5 ways you can run your business social media in under 5 hours per week.

  1. Start with 1 robust piece of hero content. Hero content is a larger piece of content, like a blog post, youtube video, or podcast episode that you can pull small snippets from for your social media. Start with that one larger piece of content, and create multiple social media touchpoints from it. If it’s a video, take 2-3 15 second clips and make reels/ tiktoks with it. Take your most compelling quotes from it and create quote graphics for all your social platforms. Take the speaking points or the notes and either do a live video or an IG stories series verbally talking about them. Always be sure to drive the audience to that hero content so that they can dig in deeper and learn more.
  2. Start with 1 social platform instead of all of them. The best way to decide which platform is right for you is to ask yourself: Where is my ideal client hanging out and consuming content? Where is she looking for the solution I provide? Pick the one platform you know HAS your client, and focus on that one, instead of trying to be everywhere in the beginning.
  3. Leverage templates. Create templates where you can simply swap out the titles and the quotes so that saves you on design time. Bonus points, it also created a cohesive and consistent brand in your social.
  4. Reuse the content you already have. Do you have training videos where you teach clients? Coaching calls you record? Worksheets or workbooks you provide? Use snippets of those in your social media to showcase the resources you give your clients. If you have an online course you sell, you have a boatload of social content snippets just sitting there unused. Maximize them, and use them to sell those social followers into your program. In addition to reusing content that is sitting inside of your programs, don’t be afraid to reuse what is proven to be working for you on social media. Take a look at your insights to see your top performing content and reuse that every 30-60 days in your social feed.
  5. Outsource some of the creation. I have a monthly membership, MAGNETIZE, where I give you stories templates, reels ideas, and social media prompts for content 5 days per week, taking 75% of the creation work off your plate.
