The Secret to Standing out as the Go-To Real Estate Agent Online
Every person you know, knows 6-7 Realtors.
In 2022, it’s never been more critical that you create opportunities for your audience to think of YOU when they think Real Estate, but with such a saturated market, your question is likely “How?”
20 years ago, you could build a successful Real Estate business through word of mouth marketing, but without a strong social media strategy today, up and coming Realtors are looking at a harder mountain to climb.
The easiest way to stand out (without spending thousands of dollars on advertising and geo-farming) is to build a social media presence that positions you as the authority in your industry. *Over 30% of Realtors today report closing at least one transaction each year as a direct result of their use of social media. But I’ll tell you that my clients see new buyers come into their business each and every month from consistent social media marketing. If that’s not happening for you yet, know that it’s never too late to start building your online platform. If you’re ready to dig in and learn how to make it worth your time and energy to show up online, here are 5 strategies to help you see momentum with your efforts.
- Optimize your Bio - On any social media platform you’ll have the chance to write a short “about you” section. Be sure to list your location, and the fact that you’re a Realtor in the bio. When someone goes to that platform and searches “Columbus Realtor,” we want to make sure you pop up!
- Be Willing to Niche - You may be afraid to paint yourself into a corner when it comes to creating a niche inside of Real Estate, but you can stand out and become the sought after resource if you’re willing to say you’re “THE Realtor for (first time home buyers, luxury properties, location, or vacation homes.)” If you’re skeptical, ask yourself, “If I were my ideal client, would I trust someone who seems to know a lot about my specific needs over someone that seems like a generalist?”
- Become the Mayor of Your Community - Not only do you know a lot about the market, you know a lot about your area. One way to build community and engagement is to talk more about the one you live in. Go to dinner and talk about that new restaurant on the corner. Recommend a local small business for your audience that might make their lives easier. If you want to create community, build community.
- Create Content that Entertains and Educates your Audience - If you can learn how to make her laugh, AND teach her something on the internet today, you’ve got the secret recipe to success.
- Consistency - An engaged and primed audience doesn’t happen over night, so the most important component to turning strangers into leads online is consistently showing up with value over the long haul. Commit to a frequency you can stick to.
